Some Insurers Incorrect on Fortified Roofs Endorsements, Kentucky Commissioner Says
Reported by Insurance Journal (P&C newsroom of record) · Published
What happened
Insurance Journal reports that Kentucky’s insurance commissioner identified problems in some FORTIFIED roof endorsements. Department bulletin 2026-08, dated September 30, asks insurers with the specified noncompliant wording to withdraw and resubmit those forms by November 1, 2026.
Why it matters to restoration
Roof replacement estimates can depend on the actual endorsement and the upgrade requirements applicable to a covered loss.
What to check next
Read the department bulletin and the customer’s policy before discussing upgrade scope or payment. The filing deadline concerns insurers.
